What to do when someone you love has a chronic illness and you are too young

When someone we love receives a chronic illness diagnosis, it is easy to feel helpless.

are you ever too young to love www.calledtowatch.com #caregiver #struggle #chronicillness #writer #hope #chronic #faith #watching #prayer

This is magnified when you are “young”.

After all, you can’t offer lifts to doctors’ appointments and you can’t be there all the time, because you have to go to school.

Perhaps your offers to help aren’t taken seriously, or people overlook you in the mad rush to help your sick family member.

What do you do when you are too young to love?…

Hi, I'm Emily. Two of my closest family members struggle with chronic illness, and I watch them. That's hard, and so I write about life as a 'Watcher', what it looks like to support them and find Hope.

  1. Life is short through and through. Don’t be afraid to give your precious family member plenty of love, even in times they don’t ask for it. It doesn’t matter what others say, it is between you two. Look after them and make sure you both focus on enjoying every moment of life and the experiences you see. And not just look after her happiness but also yours, I’m sure you mean just as much to them.
    All the best

Thoughts? I'd love to hear from you, friend.
